What is Six Month Smiles?

Six Month Smiles is a clear braces orthodontic system designed to help patients find a straighter smile in six months. Using clear brackets and tooth-coloured wires, Six Month Smiles offers a much more subtle alternative to traditional metal braces.

How does the treatment work?

As with all orthodontic treatments, we’ll first start with a consultation here at Ringway Dental. If you decide to move forward with Six Month Smiles, you’ll then return to the practice to have your braces fitted. You’ll come back for regular checks so we can keep a close eye on the progress of the treatment, and ensure the teeth are realigning correctly.

How long does the treatment take?

As the name suggests, most patients wear their Six Month Smiles braces for up to six months. There are some differences in length of treatment time – on average it takes between four and twelve months. The exact length will depend on the position of the teeth at the start of the treatment.

Will I have to wear a retainer?

Once your Six Month Smiles braces have been removed, we recommend both fixed and removable retainers. This is to help ensure the teeth do not move back to their original position.
